Susan Kennedy is a librarian-at-heart who has committed her career to promoting free, secure, and unrestricted access to information. Prior to joining Open Technology Fund as Program Manager, she was PM at Superbloom, a human-centered design and research nonprofit that supports many internet freedom and open source projects.
In addition to managing projects, she conducted facilitation and strategy work for civil society and funders in digital rights and public interest tech, and researched topics such as the design of data privacy cookie banners, the usability of scientific open source software, and digital infrastructure sustainability.
As Wrangler for MozFest 2023, Susan co-designed the ‘Utility of Transparency’ track which brought communities together to discuss different approaches and perspectives on platform and AI transparency.
Previously, Susan conducted research on digital equity ecosystems and broadband measurement in U.S. public libraries after completing her Master’s in Library and Information Science at Simmons University.
