John Willinsky started the Public Knowledge Project, producer of the world’s most widely used journal publishing platform (well, it’s free), and is a part-time professor at Simon Fraser University and Khosla Family Professor Emeritus at Stanford University. Among a dozen books published, his most recent is the open access Copyright’s Broken Promise: How to Restore the Law’s Ability to Promote the Progress of Science (MIT, 2023).
